Hi, I'm Ashni Mohnot. I'm so glad you're here!
Welcome to my personal address on Internet Boulevard.
If you'd like to ask me 'what do you do?', you can find out the traditional way on LinkedIn.

But here's the meandering, yet more interesting answer - my career portfolio has been squiggly, spanning many roles and interests. At different times in my life, I have worked as: a curriculum designer, a social entrepreneur pioneering Income Share Agreements (ISAs) before the market was ready for them and before they captured the popular imagination, an education consultant, the sales & marketing head for my family healthcare business in hospital disinfectants, and a freelance content writer and editor.
At heart, I am a writer and always have been, since the days I scribbled rhyming poems in my blue-black marbled notebook as a child. Five-year-old me wanted to be a children's writer when I grew up (like Enid Blyton, my childhood hero), and I still have that aspiration. But starting a fiction practice in college helped me realize that I also enjoy writing stories for adults.
I like burrowing into people's minds and giving them thoughts and voices. I enjoy the way words feel on the tongue and in your bones, and the chord they strike in your heart when strung together in exactly the right way. I'm the one friends call on to settle grammar debates and the person family members rely on to help them craft their websites, essays, or important emails.
If you'd like to read my writing, head over to my blog. I write about everything that interests me, ranging from the macro (like entrepreneurship, development, and writing) to the personal (like adulting, parenting, and womaning in India). I especially write about the oddities, trivialities, pains, and joys of living in India because here, life is often stranger than fiction.
